Hello my Friends and Brethren;

I would like to tell you a little about Friendship Lodge. We meet on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month. The first Tuesday is a dinner for the Brethren cooked either by the Junior Warden or another Brother who usually provides the meal as a donation to our Junior Wardens’ Fund which he then uses for Lodge projects throughout the year. This dinner is served at 7:00 P.M. with a State Communication held at 8:00 P.M... The third Tuesday is always a Covered Dish Dinner with the Ladies and Brethren bringing the meal in. This evening begins again at 7:00 P.M. with an Open or Stated Communication following at 8:00 P.M...
The open meetings can be for a Guest Speaker; for a 25, 40 or 50 Year Service Awards Night; for an Apron Presentation; a Brother Bring A Friend Night; a Past Masters Night; our Mason of the Year Award; our Annual Awards Night or just for a Program done by a member.
Friendship Lodges Memorial Floating Flag Team has for several years participated many Parades; Baseball and Football, game opening ceremonies as well as the opening of the Daytona 500 and Pepsi 400 at the Daytona Raceway. We have been involved in the Southeastern Youth Fair since 1982 and have had a Youth Soccer Team since the mid ‘80s.
During the year we have a few events where our family and friends may join us for some fellowship. In February we have our Sweetheart Dinner where this year we enjoyed grilled steak and shrimp at the lodge. During the fall there is our Oktoberfest which this year will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Dunnellon. And to close out the year we will have our annual Christmas Party at a location to be announced. These events allow us to make new friends and to strengthen the ties that we have already made.
  Through our ladies we have been involved with the Ocala Nursing Home serving Donuts and Drinks to the residents and providing them with Christmas gifts. In addition, our ladies have supported many Thanksgiving and Christmas Dinners and gifts for needy families.

What Do Masons Do?

The most important thing we do is take care of each other and our families. We are a Fraternity. That means we help other Masons, Treat them in special ways, support them no matter where they live. And we build friendships all over the world. Not very many organizations do that today.
And we help others. That’s why we give almost $1.5 million a day to charity. With most of our money going to children. We rank among the top 10 best-liked charitable groups in America.
But we also teach leadership skills, and help men lead an ethics-based life. We promote good relationships and strong family values. We try to do something to strengthen the family unit every day.
